My Sister’s Books is your one-stop resource!
It’s official – the new term for “book club” is “reading group.” Why?
“The term 'book clubs' has evolved to represent subscriptions to publishers that send members books every month for a fee,” says Bess Long. “Reading groups are friends who come together to discuss what they’ve read and exchange ideas.”
“At My Sister’s Books, we enjoy working with reading group members because they enjoy reading a good book as much as we do,” adds Bess. “Our staff is always available to make suggestions, share ideas and answer questions for reading group members.”
Reading groups (aka “book clubs") are very popular in the Pawleys Island/Litchfield area. We know of 70+ Reading Groups in the area. If you are looking to join a group, feel free to send us an email and we can introduce you to a few of our friends. If your group is looking for meeting ideas, we can come speak to the group and offer suggestions and handouts. Call us today, if you are interested.
Join a Reading Group
Joining a Reading Group is easy and fun. If you are interested in joining with other readers or want to start a new Reading Group contact Bess (firstname.lastname@example.org) for assistance.
The Ginger Book Club
Meets the 2nd Thurs. of the month, 10:00 am.
We are the oldest one founded by Bess Long. It was named after her dog Ginger, who used to attend the meetings. This Reading Group likes variety, we move from fiction to memoirs, to young adult, to mysteries with a classic, thrown in for good measure. Pretty much any style of a great read, will end up on our list. Occasionally our meetings will feature an author, guest speaker or a fun theme. Once, we selected mysteries with food and each cooked a dish from their book to bring to the discussion.
